Men and women of all ages are choosing to improve their appearance with a facelift. A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that provides an overall lift to the lower third of the face by tightening loose muscles and reducing redundant skin in the jowls, neck area and jaw line.

A face lift provides a cleaner appearance for the lower face by creating more of a sharper angle between the jaw and neck. Neck liposuction is often combined with this procedure to remove the accumulation of unwanted fat.

The procedure takes about two hours, and the incisions are hidden back in your hairline. Recovery is rapid and most people feel comfortable going out again after two to three weeks, finding that their face feels completely "normal" in about ten to twelve weeks. A facelift can be combined with a brow lift and/or blepharoplasty.
