Dr. John P. Fezza is a highly respected cosmetic facial surgeon in Sarasota, FL, specializing in facelift surgery, eyelid surgry and laser skin rejuvenation. A member of the Center for Sight team since 1998, Dr. Fezza is recongizned as one of the top providers of facelifts in Sarasota, helping patients acheive natural, youthful, and refreshed results.

After earning his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and received his medical education at New York Medical College, where he was President of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in ophthalmology at Yale University and his two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery at Vanderbilt University. In addition, he completed a second fellowship in cosmetic surgery sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. His many years of extensive transing allowed Dr. Fezza to gain expertise in Facelift techniques, neck lift procedures and other advanced facial suregeries.

Dr. Fezza has been annually honored as one of America’s “Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd. He has also been consistently voted “Best Plastic Surgeon” in Sarasota, Venice and Manatee by the readers of the Sarasota Herald Tribune for the Readers’ Choice Awards. Dr. Fezza has held many prestigious national positions in medical societies, including the position of Past President of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and Past Treasurer of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). In 2016, he was honored with the ASOPRS Research Award and in 2019 he received the Henry Baylis Cosmetic Surgery Award for longstanding contributions in the field of cosmetic facial surgery.

Dr. Fezza is dedicated to helping Center For Sight patients look and feel their best. His expertise couples the use of lasers for skin rejuvenation with utilizing the latest surgical techniques. Dr. Fezza is a master injector with Allergan Aesthetics (maker of Botox®). Master injectors are medical professionals with intensive training and knowledge of facial anatomy, with the ability to perform facial analysis. He specializes in nonsurgical injectables, such as Botox® and fillers. He has an aesthetic eye for beauty, creating a subtle and refreshed natural look. A nationally recognized author and lecturer on cosmetic facial and laser surgery, Dr. Fezza is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Fezza is a well-respected pharmaceutical consultant, lecturer, and master trainer. He serves on advisory boards for Allergan, Revance Therapeutics and is involved as an investigator in FDA clinical trials. In addition, he is an ad hoc preceptor for ASOPRS fellows and was an Associate Clinical Professor in Oculoplastics at the University of South Florida. Dr. Fezza holds multiple patents for treatment of dry eye disease and medical devices for facial fillers.

Dr. Fezza enjoys his own great sense of humor as well as a myriad of outdoor athletic activities, whether it’s exercising, a round of golf, tennis, jogging, surfing or skiing. Most of all, he cherishes the time he shares with his wife, Heidi, his sons Blake, Reed and Tyler.

Dr. Joshua M. Newman brings patients at Center For Sight and AMARA Aesthetic Surgery & Dermatology a wide range of medical services for the care, diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the skin, hair and nails. Dr. Newman earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.

During his medical education, he was awarded a four-year academic scholarship and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He continued his postdoctoral education with an internship in Internal Medicine followed by a residency in Dermatology, both at the noted Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. After completing his residency, Dr. Newman entered private practice, first in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and later in Largo, Florida.

At Center For Sight, Dr. Newman specializes in providing advanced medical care, including the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers as well as the removal of both benign and malignant skin growths. For more advanced skin cancers, he utilizes Mohs Micrographic Surgery to achieve the best possible cure rates. In addition, he offers patients the latest cosmetic dermatological techniques, including sclerotherapy for spider veins. Dr. Newman has been repeatedly honored as one of America’s “Top Doctors” by the prestigious Top Doctors list published annually by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd. He has also been voted “Best Dermatologist” in Venice by the readers of the Sarasota Herald Tribune.

Dr. Newman is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology with a subspeciality certification in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Mohs Surgery. He is also a member of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and a fellow member of the Florida Academy of Dermatology.

As a University of Michigan graduate, Dr. Newman is a diehard Wolverine fan. When not cheering on his team, he enjoys tennis and boating. He lives with his two sons, Jared and Eli.

Kalie Kosek is a Florida-licensed physician assistant (PA-C) and is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Kalie earned her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Florida’s College of Medicine in June 2014. Prior to her graduate schooling, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the University of Florida, graduating cum laude.

Physician assistants are healthcare providers who practice in collaboration with their physician. They are, however, independently licensed and do not require the direct supervision of a physician. Kalie has joined the team of John Fezza, M.D., Cosmetic Facial Surgeon at Center for Sight.

Prior to joining Center for Sight, Kalie practiced as a general and cosmetic dermatology physician assistant in Jacksonville, Florida. Now, a part of our oculoplastic team, Kalie offers a wide range of office-based procedures and provides diagnostic, therapeutic and medical treatments to address many concerns of the eyes and face. She is also qualified to administer today’s modern injectables, including Botox and Juvederm.

She is an active member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Kalie lives in Sarasota with her husband, Dave, who is a local dentist, and their two children. Outside of work, Kalie enjoys paddle boarding, playing tennis, traveling, cooking, and watching Gator football.

Shannon Bednarz is a Florida-licensed Physician Assistant. She works in collaboration with the Director of Dermatology Services at Center For Sight/AMARA, Joshua Newman, M.D. Shannon graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology. She then earned her Master of Clinical Medical Science (MCMS) graduate degree and completed the Physician Assistant program at Barry University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Shannon completed the Diplomate Fellowship program; a prestigious comprehensive training program developed specifically for Physician Assistants working in the field of Dermatology. Physician Assistants with this certification have demonstrated a broad knowledge base of dermatologic conditions and treatment options to offer the highest level of patient care.

Shannon’s previous work experience as a Physician Assistant includes urgent care and family medicine environments, where she was responsible for providing healthcare for patients of all ages. Additionally, prior to her Physician Assistant studies, Shannon worked as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant at Center For Sight. She is thrilled to see her career path lead her back to Center For Sight to work in the newly established AMARA dermatology practice.

Physician Assistants (PAs) are healthcare providers who practice in collaboration with their physician. They are independently licensed and do not require the direct supervision of a physician. As a PA working with Dr. Newman, Shannon offers various medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic services, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of the full range of skin diseases, with a keen eye for skin cancer detection.

Shannon is a fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Gosia Napieracz is a Licensed Aesthetician serving patients at AMARA Aesthetic Surgery and Dermatology in Venice, and Center For Sight in Englewood.

She possesses over 20 years of aesthetic experience, having practiced in Europe, Canada and New York. While in New York, Gosia worked in a high-volume office and quickly became proficient in a variety of skin care procedures. Gosia remains on the cusp of the most recent advancements in her field, taking considerable time to research and implement the most effective skin care techniques for her patients. She performs medical-grade skin care services, including facials, CoolSculpting, waxing, peels and microneedling.

In her free time, Gosia enjoys playing tennis, hiking and skiing. She loves the Florida sunshine and taking advantage of the beautiful weather year-round.
